Grandpa and Grandma Visit

This past week my parents visited from Portland, OR. I usually see them only once or twice a year, plus this was the first time they'd come to the Bay since our wedding last June so this visit was especially memorable.

We spent our time doing home improvement projects, shopping, eating, and talking. It was nice to be with them because they were so excited about the baby. I've noticed that my relationship with my mother has gotten closer since I got pregnant. It's nice because I can ask her for advice and she has a lot of wonderful stories to tell me about her pregnancy and time as a mother to me and my brother. My father was a man on fire this week! He was working around the clock on the house doing projects like gardening, remodeling our bathroom and kitchen, and doing some electrical work. His generosity with his skill and time were amazing. My parents are wonderful people and I just know that they're going to be super grandparents.

I'm officially tipping the scales at 120 lbs. and a 35 inch waist. The extra weight is starting to take it's toll on my body. I've developed sciatica on my left hip and leg and it's getting difficult to stay on my feet for long periods of time. The scary part is that I've still got a ways to go in terms of weight gain, but I admit that being able to eat a lot is nice!
