yawwwn

Motherhood....wow, what a roller coaster ride it's been. 6 weeks have passed since the birth of our little jelly bean and only now are we feeling like things have (sort-of) gotten back to normal. Marley is still nursing every 2-3 hours, even through the night. But I'm starting to enjoy nursing now, since the tenderness and sore nipples have subsided (phew!). There's a feeling of closeness and warmth when I'm nursing him. It's nice when he has a big meal and sighs like, "ooh yeah, I'm full and satisfied!"

Since Marley's arrival we haven't had as much time to do things like shopping, cleaning, and cooking. Many days I don't get to pee or brush my teeth until 11am because I'm too busy. I'm really going to have to watch it or else I'm going to really let myself go...I don't want to be one of those moms that get surprised by her friends on "What Not To Wear" or "10 Years Younger." **shudder** If my wardrobe starts looking like it consists mostly of breastmilk stained T shirts and sweatpants, please pull me aside and say something.

But all jokes aside, being a new parent has been one of the hardest and yet most rewarding jobs I've ever had. The rewards come at just the right times. Like when Marley snuggles his little face in the crook of my neck and my heart just melts.
