April update

I'm sorry for not posting in awhile but things have been kinda hectic around here. But much has slowed down in the past week and my calendar is looking a bit more manageable now.

I finished final exams last week and have the summer "off" so I'll be able to focus on my other full-time job of being a mommy. Marley has grown so much in the past month! He went through a growth spurt a couple weeks ago where he wanted to eat every 1-2 hours...and yes, the sleep deprivation came back for Gene and I. He's starting to teethe. Although no teeth have sprouted, I can tell the time is coming because he's being a bit more fussy, drooling more, and wanted to chew on things. It's an exciting time because he's starting to show his personality, talking more, and being much more aware and alert.

Gene is back working full time at the bike shop, which means many long days at home alone with the baby. I try to break up the time with outings to meet other moms and babies or errands. But it can be hard getting around with a baby because you have to think ahead: pack the diaper bag with the essentials (diapers, wipes, extra clothes, jacket, comfort items, sling, nursing cover, baby powder, diaper rash cream, hand sanitizer, tissues, water, camera, wallet, phone) and plan the outing to work around his feedings and naps. I usually have a 3-4 hour window in the afternoon that I can get out the door.

When I get the time, I'll update with more pictures but for now...time to sleep.
